Ntataise ( which means “To lead a young child by the hand”) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which helps serve young children by improving the quality and reach of Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes in disenfranchised communities. Safe and Sound is a member of the Ntataise Network which consists of 22 self-sufficient and independent member organisations in eight of South Africa’s nine provinces.
ECD is central to a child’s development: it lays the groundwork for successful learning, which in turn helps children progress confidently into formal schooling. By facilitating interaction between government, training providers and implementers, BRIDGE supports coordination and collaboration to increase quality and impact in this vital sector.” Safe and Sound is a member of the Ntataise Network which consists of 22 self-sufficient and independent member organisations in eight of South Africa’s nine provinces.
The National Early Childhood Alliance (NECDA) is an Early Childhood Development (ECD) focused network, comprising of ECD NPO’s and Sector Experts, located throughout South Africa. It was formed in 2005 in response to a need to strengthen the ECD sector, with a view of building a better future for children by promoting children’s rights to ECD, strengthening NPO’s and advocating for ECD. Member organisations and experts are united in their objective to provide capacity building, high quality training and resourcing to the ECD Sector. NECDA currently represents and serves approximately 103-member organizations across all nine provinces of South Africa
